Terms of Use for QuickType App

Effective Date: August 1, 2025

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“you,” “your,” or “User”) and Codechime Software Solutions (“Codechime,” “we,” us,” or “our”), a company organized and existing under the laws of the Philippines, with its principal place of business in Cebu, Philippines. These Terms govern your access to and use of the QuickType mobile application (the “App”) and all related services provided by Codechime (collectively, the “Services”).

These Terms incorporate by reference our Privacy Policy, available at Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and share your information.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Services, you represent that you are at least 13 years old or have reached the age of majority in your jurisdiction and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. You acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy, do not download, install, access, or use the Services.

2. Description of Service

The App is a productivity tool that allows users to create shortcuts (“QuickTypes”) to rapidly insert longer pieces of text in other applications through the use of Android's Accessibility Service.

The Services are provided to enhance your typing productivity for both personal and commercial purposes. The App is a tool to assist with typing efficiency. Codechime is not a publisher of, and takes no responsibility for, the content you save or use within the App. Functionality may be subject to interruptions, delays, or errors caused by the Android Operating System, and Codechime does not guarantee that the text-replacement feature will work flawlessly at all times.

3. User Accounts

• Eligibility & Registration: To access features like Cloud Sync, you must register for a Codechime account and provide accurate information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• Guest Accounts: You may use the App as a guest. Data associated with guest accounts is stored locally on your device and will be permanently lost if you change devices, clear app data, or uninstall the App. We strongly encourage you to register a free account to enable Cloud Sync and prevent data loss.
• Account Termination by User: You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at info@codechime.com. Your data will be handled according to our Privacy Policy.
• Account Suspension/Termination by Codechime: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to, a violation of these Terms.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to use the App for any unlawful purpose or in any way that violates these Terms. Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:

• Violating any applicable laws or regulations.
• Storing, inserting, or transmitting any unlawful, harassing, defamatory, infringing, obscene, hateful, or otherwise objectionable content.
• Using the Services to spam, phish, or send unsolicited communications.
• Infringing on the intellectual property rights of any third party.
• Interfering with or disrupting the operation of the App, our servers, or the Android Accessibility Service.
• Reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to derive the source code of the App.

5. User Content

• Ownership and Responsibility: You retain full ownership of the text, codes, and other content you input into the App (“User Content”). You are solely responsible for your User Content and any consequences of storing and using it. You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions for the content you save as QuickTypes and that your User Content does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws.
• License to Codechime: By using the App, you grant Codechime a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, process, and store your User Content solely for the purposes of (a) providing, maintaining, and improving the Services (e.g., cloud sync); (b) developing new features; and (c) complying with applicable laws. This license terminates when you delete your content or your account, though we may retain anonymized data as described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Intellectual Property

The App and its content (excluding User Content), including its branding, design, and source code, are the exclusive property of Codechime and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

7. Third-Party Services

The App utilizes third-party services, including, but not limited to, Google AdMob for serving advertisements, and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for push notifications. Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. Codechime is not responsible for the performance, availability, or security of these third-party services, and we disclaim all liability for any damages arising from your use of them. You acknowledge that we may share necessary information (such as technical data) with these providers to facilitate the Services, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not share the content of your QuickTypes with third-party advertising services.

8. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

• No Responsibility for Content: Codechime does not review, endorse, or take any responsibility for the User Content you save or use via the Services. You use any User Content at your own risk.
• Service Reliability & Accessibility Service: The App’s core functionality depends on the Android Accessibility Service, which can be interrupted or disabled by the Android OS or other apps. We do not warrant that the text-replacement feature will be uninterrupted or error-free. You acknowledge that Codechime is not liable for any failure of the App to function due to factors outside of our direct control.
• Data Loss: While we provide a cloud sync feature for registered users to enhance data persistence, we do not guarantee the prevention of data loss. You acknowledge that using the Services involves an inherent risk of data loss from technical issues, user error, or other unforeseen circumstances. Codechime is not responsible for any loss of data, regardless of the cause.
• As-Is Basis: The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Codechime shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services. In no event shall Codechime’s total liability to you exceed the amount you paid, if any, to use the Services in the twelve (12) months preceding the event, or one hundred US dollars ($100), whichever is greater.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Services at any time, with or without cause. Upon termination, your right to use the Services will immediately cease. All provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to its conflict of law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Cebu City, Philippines.

11. Updates to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated Terms within the App and/or through an in-app notification. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Entire Agreement

These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and Codechime regarding your use of the App.
